Newborn sessions are a favorite of mine to photograph.

I love witnessing first hand this beautiful window of time, where all of life slows down and all that matters is taking the time to get to know this brand new member of the family. Breathing it in. Staring. Snuggling.

Just being in each other’s presence.

The way I photograph these newborn babies and families is in best way I know how. Real and honest.

Because your real life is beautiful.

I photograph the snuggles, the feedings, the burping. I document older siblings fighting over who gets to hold baby next, the new normal daily grind of pumping while you fold laundry, keeping the baby bouncer moving with just your toes. I photograph your hands gently rubbing your new baby’s back as you rock back and forth in your rocking chair, singing your sweet child to sleep.

This lovely family in Duvall, Washington won my heart. Three boys under the age of five who love each other fiercely. So excited to hold their new brother. So interested in being together. What a lovely family to be birthed into.
