The kid who did not want his picture taken.
July 2021
It does happen sometimes, believe it or not.
You show up to your pictures, expecting everyone to be the happiest version of themselves and you quickly realize these hopes are dashed.
When this family arrived for their photo session at the lavender farm, their youngest fell asleep in the car and was not feeling it when he woke up.
It’s ok! This totally happens.
This is one reason why my mini sessions are 40 minutes rather than most photographers’ 15-minute mini sessions. I love to give ample time for anything unexpected. It’s ok if everything doesn’t go according to plan!
We gave him time to warm up by snuggling mommy and running around the farm. These moments make for beautiful real-life photos too! Dad even thought of sneaking a phone into the family photo so that kiddo could feel safe and happy while he discreetly watches a show.
It is so important to me that your kids feel safe and comfortable while getting their photos taken.
This seems so obvious, but it’s important to clarify. I have so many families stress when their kids aren’t smiling and happy. The last thing I want to do is force your child to smile. I want them to smile because they feel good. When they are given time to adjust to their surroundings, love on a parent or family pet, and have a little fun, we always get beautiful photos. And on top of it, your child is not traumatized by family pictures. Which is obviously super important to me.
I have all kinds of tricks up my sleeves to make your family pictures a huge success! First and foremost, putting zero pressure on you.
Trust me when I say that we will get lovely pictures of your family. Relax, enjoy each other, and let me handle the rest!
Love your photographer
