I have found that one of the best ways to document real-life family moments is to create visual stories. Not just document literally what’s happening in front of me, but to hone in on a theme, or a story.

THIS, TO ME, IS WHAT MAKES MY PHOTOGRAPHY DOCUMENTARY STYLE. THE STORY.

Whether the story is about two brothers playing on the beach, one snuggling your dog as close as he possibly can while the other plays so hard in the sand, it finds its way to his ears, or your family picking strawberries on the farm, it is YOUR FAMILY living your life together.
