mini session stories // girl in yellow picks blueberries in black and white

Girl in yellow picks blueberries.

July 2020

When I photograph your family I look for stories.

I watch your family engaging in the mini session activity and with one another. I observe how you interact, how you love, and how you play. I look for the quirky things your kids do. I document the way you look at them when they are IN IT, being their true, authentic selves.

This is how I get real-life, everyday moments brimming with meaning.

I really enjoyed photographing this girl in yellow. She was very focused on the task of picking berries. She filled her bucket so quickly! After her bucket was nearly full, she took some time to play with her family, asking dad to throw berries into the bucket on her head. I can’t write this stuff friends!! This is what happens when your family just cuts loose and enjoys each other, forgetting about the camera and the “perfect” pictures.

So, let’s leave perfection in our dust in pursuit of your beautiful everyday moments.

LOVE YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER,

Anna
