Capturing Joy and Personality: High School Senior Portraits at the Maple Valley Library // black and white
I recently had the pleasure of photographing a high school senior at her happy place - the Maple Valley Library. As a lifestyle photographer, I love incorporating personal elements into my portrait sessions, and this was the perfect opportunity to do just that.
The Maple Valley Library is more than just a place to borrow books - it's a community hub where locals come to learn, connect, and be inspired. For this senior, the library has been a place of solace and joy throughout her high school years, and she wanted to capture that essence in her senior portraits.
As we wandered through the stacks of books, we explored different angles and lighting to create a variety of unique and personalized portraits. The natural light pouring in through the large windows created a warm and inviting atmosphere, while the rows of books provided a striking backdrop.
But it wasn't just the setting that made this session special. It was the energy and enthusiasm of the senior herself. Her love for reading and learning shone through in every photo, creating a sense of authenticity and connection that truly captured her spirit.
This session was a reminder that senior portraits don't have to be limited to traditional locations like parks or beaches. By incorporating personal elements and meaningful locations, we can create truly unique and personalized portraits that reflect the senior's personality and interests.
So whether it's a library, a sports field, or a local cafe, don't be afraid to think outside the box when it comes to senior portraits. The possibilities are endless, and with a little creativity and a lot of enthusiasm, we can create something truly special together.
Love your photographer,
Anna
